Events

Southern Oregon Coast Pride creates vibrant events that unite our community, fostering hope and providing support for LGBTQIA2S+ people across the southern Oregon coast. If you're passionate about planning, organizing, and celebrating, we invite you to join your county’s committee! Whether you prefer contributing to large or small-scale events, your enthusiasm can make a huge impact. Our committees are where the magic happens; members collaborate on everything from event conception and logistics to outreach and promotion, ensuring our gatherings are impactful, inclusive, and joyful for the entire LGBTQIA2S+ community and our allies.

De-Escalation Team

We believe that safety comes from knowing your neighbor.  As an organization, SOCP invests in community safety and protects joy through the establishment of our volunteer de-escalation team.  This team is made up of individuals who want to ensure events remain brave spaces of self-expression.  There are a number of different roles on the de-esc teams that allows for varying levels of involvement such as social media monitor, verbal engagement team, sign-holders, and more!

Training provided by SOCP with opportunities to build stronger community connection.

Reach out to Laura, pride@unitedwayswo.org or 541-297-0607, to learn more and sign up for training!

The Gender Affirmation Closet (GAC)

The Gender Affirmation Closet is more than just clothes – it's a place of joy, acceptance, and empowerment for our gender non-conforming community members. We're looking for compassionate volunteers to help us keep this vital resource thriving, and we have several key roles where you can make a powerful difference.

We are looking for 2SLGBTQIA+ folks* to help with tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Inventory

  • Peer support and advocacy

  • Graphic design

  • Any other creative ways you can volunteer!

*We prefer advocates to be members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community as we are supporting folks through the unique experience of transitioning and exploring their gender expansive identity. Cis folks and allies are still welcome to volunteer with other areas of the program, to be discussed.

Queers & Allies (Q&A)

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people! Join us in supporting our Q&A youth groups in both Coos and Curry Counties as an Elder. We believe in the power of multi-generational connection, and your presence as an Elder volunteer can provide invaluable support, understanding, and a sense of belonging for LGBTQ+ youth and their allies. If you're ready to contribute to a vibrant, affirming community for our local youth, please connect with us. We'd love to tell you more about this rewarding opportunity.
